TRAVEL AND TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION

AIRPORTS

There are two airports that serve the Santa Fe area:

Albuquerque International Sunport
2200 Sunport Blvd., SE
Albuquerque, NM 87106
(505) 244-7700

60 miles south of Santa Fe on I-25 is the Sunport, which is the airport that most people use to get to Santa Fe. The Sunport is served by eight commercial airlines, including: American Airlines, America West Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines, Frontier Airlines, Northwest Airlines, Southwest Airlines and United Airlines. Commuter airlines at the Sunport are Mesa Airlines, Rio Grande Air and Skywest.

Santa Fe Municipal Airport
121 Aviation Drive
Santa Fe, NM
(505) 955-2900

People rarely fly into this small airport located on the southwest side of town. The SFMA services private planes and one commercial airline, Great Lakes Airlines (505-473-4118). Great Lakes Airlines has two flights a day to Denver (Mon.-Sat.) and three flights a day to Denver on Sundays.

RAIL

The charming town of Lamy is the closest stop Amtrak makes to Santa Fe. If you're arriving on one of only two trains that come into the station at 2:00 pm or 2:20 pm every day, the Lamy Shuttle service will be happy to drop you off anywhere in downtown Santa Fe. The one-way shuttle tickets cost $18, $16.20 for seniors.

CAR RENTAL

Renting a car is highly recommended for any trip to Santa Fe. Although many of the SFFF's affiliated hotels are located within walking distance from downtown, the Festival's venues are spread around the city, public transportation is spotty and it may be downright frigid outside.

From the Albuquerque International Sunport:
Car rental customer service counters and ready/return lots are now located at the Sunport Car Rental Center, 3400 University Blvd. SE. Car rental shuttles provide transportation between the terminal building and the Car Rental Center. Shuttles run every 5 minutes from the commercial lane located outside the 1st level of the airport terminal building and are handicap accessible.
