Red Carpet Burn<\/span><\/em>\u00a0was<\/span> shot over a 10 year period,\u00a0in 6 countries, by Santa Fe filmmaker, Mark<\/span> Steven Shepherd.It\u00a0chronicles the history of the red carpet from\u00a0450 BC, when it<\/span>\u00a0was<\/span> reserved exclusively for royalty, to its modern<\/span> incarnation as a promenade<\/span> for the public worship of glamorous stars. It is a ‘labor of love.’<\/span><\/p>\n

The film examines the seemingly universal fascination with \u201ccelebrity\u201d that transcends age, gender, and cultures around the world. Mark\u2019s humorous<\/span> tongue in cheek approach to filming both the upper echelon and lower echelon obsession with celebrity, blends live footage, animation, graphics, and paparazzi action figures, into a comic tour de force which not only explores the commodity of celebrity, but also manages<\/span> to achieve \u201c flying by the seat of\u00a0<\/span>the pants\u201d instant creation of<\/span> celebrity<\/span> with unanticipated consequences.<\/p>\n
