In the late 1970\u2019s, when L.A.\u2019s punk rock scene was exploding, an unlikely family-owned restaurant in Little Tokyo started by Japanese Americans returning from America\u2019s WWII concentration camps, became one its most popular hang-outs. That\u2019s when Sansei \u201cAtomic Nancy\u201d with her \u201ctake-no-prisoners\u201d punk make-up and demeanor took the caf\u00e9 over from her parents and cranked up the jukebox. Infamous for its eclectic clientele \u2013 from Japanese American locals and kids from East L.A. to yakuza and the biggest rock stars of the day – the Atomic Caf\u00e9 became an important part of L.A.\u2019s punk rock history.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
