{"id":24565,"date":"2022-02-05T13:41:00","date_gmt":"2022-02-05T20:41:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/santafefilmfestival.com\/index\/?p=24565"},"modified":"2022-02-11T13:46:03","modified_gmt":"2022-02-11T20:46:03","slug":"painted-over-a-portrait-of-ed-brezinski-emerges-on-screen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/santafefilmfestival.com\/index\/painted-over-a-portrait-of-ed-brezinski-emerges-on-screen\/","title":{"rendered":"Painted over: A portrait of Ed Brezinski emerges on screen"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>Santa<\/em><\/strong><em><strong> Fe Film Festival Coverage <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A new documentary,&nbsp;<em>Make Me Famous<\/em>, screening at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, at the Center for Contemporary Arts as part of the Santa Fe Film Festival, brings him the attention he never received during his lifetime, while also capturing the make-it-or-break-it era in all its vicissitudes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brezinski, living in a squalid tenement across from a homeless shelter and running gallery shows out his apartment, was a fixture on the scene, but his antics (he once threw a glass of red wine in Nosei\u2019s face at an opening and, later, threatened to kill her) kept the dealers at arm\u2019s length.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But even if fame was elusive, artists like Brezinski and his contemporaries had each other.
