BINGO QUEENS is a modern fairytale about queer friendship, inner-city loneliness and the redemptive power of platonic love… Set against the colours of summer it tells the story of Luna; a trans, bipoc ballet dancer on the brink of giving up on her career and Eric; a forgotten viral video star. They are both dreamers, both romantic, both stuck… like birds of paradise with clipped wings.
They meet amid the spit and the slurs of a transphobic attack. After a spark of friendship is ignited, they take flight into the city, the story takes on a dreamlike turn – leading us to a faded old Bingo Hall in South London and the neon-drenched sweat of a colourful queer rooftop dance scene provide the backdrop for a 24-hour odyssey of laughter, soul-searching and candid conversation that will give them the inspiration they needed to face the pains of the past.
