Saturn

Saturn is a character-based sci-fi drama about a family in a picturesque seaside town whose lives are upended when a strange planet appears in the sky on a collision course for earth.

The planet’s appearance brings back a life that James thought he had left years ago when he settled down with his wife and young son. But, with the outside world in chaos and his perfect family slowly falling apart, James must decide between running from his destiny or sacrificing everything he loves.

We slowly learn that James is more than meets the eye. He has a secret he’s never shared with anyone… a secret that is humanity’s only hope.

The story of Saturn deals with addiction, abuse, and purpose, asking a simple question: how far would you go to save those you love?

Director Statement

Saturn is something that has been speaking to me for some time. I’m inspired by stories that are built on fantastic worlds: The Lord of the Rings, Peter Pan, and The Chronicles of Narnia. These stories point to something beyond themselves and remind us that the world is grander than we could ever imagine. Such is the hope of what we’ve built in Saturn.

But it’s not just a story filled with history and lore. It’s about the characters and the choices they make in this complex world. Saturn asks us all to look within ourselves and decide what to fight for.

What does it look like to do what’s right even when it costs us dearly? How can we be something more than we see presently, no matter our past trauma or present struggles?

The world of Saturn is grand, but the story it tells is intimate. I’m excited to share it with you.
