Eccentric psychologist, Elisaveta Petrova, has hidden love of painting but her childhood trauma inhibits her from pursuing a career in the arts. Resentful to turning her back on her dream she tries to cure her own fears by devising experimental therapy sessions with other blocked artists but her life takes an unexpected turn when former child-prodigy painter, Oliver, joins her therapy group.

Sometimes we need the colour to come to us… Sometimes we have to open ourselves and let it in – to fill the white canvas with strokes of dreams and harmony, and leave a mark of our life in the gallery of timelessness. Sometimes we just need therapy. An inner therapy that starts from the deep layers of consciousness, similar to the mixing of paints.
History resembles an unfinished painting. A moment in life that is painted, but the author is someone else, not us. Perhaps fate mixes the colors and charts the life’s path, but one more brush stroke can always be added. As Elisaveta says “This is the outlet”. In other words, to pick up the brush and finish what we started, as artists of our own lives.
Despite the stain of fears, pain and unrealised dreams, there is also room on the canvas for what makes us happy. We only have to wish for it and realize that our time is limited, that every second forward is a second less. The arrows spin faster and faster, and their sounds pierce through us.
In order to win over time, Elisaveta must overcome her fears. By conducting therapy for her patients, she unwittingly becomes one of them. She faces the most difficult battle, the one in her mind – voices that laugh at her, dark dreams, split images, and visions. A palette resembling Oliver’s paintings. His canvases seem to symbolize the inner world of the characters, which must remain secret, and mustn’t be shown. But it is precisely his paintings that are at the heart of the conflict, if they surface, changes will inevitably occur. But they are part of the therapy the characters go through. And in the course of events, it is no longer just to overcome the fear of criticism. It becomes the therapy of life. For survival in the physical and spiritual worlds.
The contrast between Elisaveta’s battle with illness fighting for her life and Oliver’s suicide attempt, giving his life away, makes the two opposites merge into a painting sculpted by love. Despite the difficulties, they manage to keep it alive in the gallery of unfinished art. The end remains open… No words of farewell between the two lovers. But everyone who realised their fears and mistakes went through the therapy.
Elisaveta is again with her grandmother holding a brush in her hand. “Where are we? – At home”. In front of the home, which is a fortress of inner peace and harmony. The two are together, as they have often been, and as if they have never been apart. Like a moment that will last forever, like a painting we want to live in. One of those hanging on the wall, unfinished, so that it can always be changed, with new brush strokes leading to hope.
