As her world crumbles around her, Clara must do everything in her power to protect her younger sister, Ruby, while not divulging the secret that will shatter them both.
What Tomorrow Brings
Matt Engelbert created, produced and directed two nationally syndicated children’s television shows – Ariel & Zoey & Eli, Too and (Daytime Emmy nominated) Steal the Show. This is his first feature film (and that picture of him is 15 years old).
The film deals with suicide and the insurmountable impact it can have on a child. It deals with testing the limits of strength and courage and love for another human being. It deals with a bond between siblings that can’t be broken.
This project is truly a family affair. My two youngest daughters Joely (Clara) and Phoebe (Ruby) performed the main roles in the movie. They also were greatly involved in writing the script – it is a painful story and the words had to come from them. My son, Eli, was responsible for all sound and soundtrack. My twin daughters, Ariel and Zoey, also played key parts in the making of the film. Zoey (a licensed cosmetologist) was responsible for hair and make up, wrote the song for final scene of movie and also plays the role of Nikki. Ariel was my assistant on the set and played the role of Ms. Watkins. A little trivia, Ariel, Zoey and Eli are the youngest ever Daytime Emmy nominees in the category of outstanding original song.
All the actors are very close friends. They are “family” to me. I was overwhelmed by their talent, commitment and dedication. The subject matter in the film is heavy and devastatingly sad, as we dive deeply into the impact of suicide. The process of making this film with this team was a joy!
