Santa Fe Film Festival and Casting Society Of America Announce the First Casting Awards at the Festival for Feature and Short Films

The Santa Fe Film Festival in partnership with Casting Society of America for the first time will be presenting two casting awards to a feature film and short film at the 23rd Annual Santa Fe Film Festival on Saturday, February 12th during the filmmaker luncheon at the La Fonda on the Plaza Hotel.

This year’s theme is the ‘Art and Science of Filmmaking’ and Casting Society of America will also be presenting “The Magic and Genius of Casting” following the luncheon which will focus on the casting and creative process involved in assembling the perfect cast.

“We are thrilled to partner with the CSA to honor independent filmmakers and their cast. CSA President, Kim Williams, and Vice President, Caroline Liem have been working with us on creating the first casting awards for filmmakers along with their special presentation at the Santa Fe Film Festival; their presentation will help filmmakers understand the importance of collaborating with casting directors as part of the filmmaking process,” said Stephanie Piche, Executive Director of the Santa Fe Film Festival.

“It’s an honor to be able to present these two inaugural awards on behalf of CSA,” said Williams and Liem. “We’re excited to raise awareness among the filmmaking community and the world about the invaluable the work of casting directors and their partnership with filmmakers to help bring their vision for a project to light.”
