Call for Entries for New Mexico Filmmakers

Now is your chance to support your local, world-renowned film festival. If you are a New Mexico filmmaker and completed a film in New Mexico after September, 2010, submit it to the Santa Fe Film Festival and receive a 60% discount on short film submissions, and a 40% discount on feature film submissions.

For details on how to submit your film and receive the discount, email info@https://santafefilmfestival.com/index. The deadline is August 31st—only 3 weeks away.

This year, the Festival honors New Mexico Filmmakers in a “Spotlight” section (featuring 1 feature and a program of several shorts) to showcase our “home-grown filmmakers’ work. All films submitted by New Mexico filmmakers will be eligible for both general consideration and the spotlight section.

Established in 1999, the 12th annual Santa Fe Film Festival will run October 20 -23, 2011, as a signature event of the Santa Fe Arts Festival.

Director of Programming, Brent Kliewer will work alongside Executive Director Diane Schneier Perrin in building on last year’s success, expanding to four days and increasing the number of features, shorts and panels.

As a world-class film curator and Santa Fe favorite, Brent Kliewer looks forward to his new role as Director of Programming. “Santa Fe stands as one of the great centers for film enthusiasts in the world,” he says.

This year’s program will include 12-15 features, 20-25 shorts and a tribute to a world-renowned film artist. Filmmakers, journalists, industry leaders and audiences from around the world gather together in this relaxed, intimate setting to experience the year’s most interesting contemporary films while also giving a nod to cinema’s history.

Being a film crew member and a short filmmaker, I love sitting in the audience when a film I have worked on starts playing. That’s the dream come true, isn’t it? Being part of a larger crew, even if you’re working on set, you never really know how it’s all going to gel until you see the aggregate of many creative forces come together, illuminated, on the screen.
