Wartime, 1942. When 18 year old newlyweds Marjorie Hua and Private Tom Carlson arrive at the small inn for their honeymoon night, they’re forced to wait for their room. While waiting, their anxiety builds. Tom leaves for the war in the morning and what will their future hold? Will this first night together be their last? Finaly revealing the fears they’ve hoped to conceal, they’re able to celebrate the strength of their love and seize the joy in the moments they have here and now.

 

RAYMOND SINGER (Director) has more than 150 acting credits in television and film. With his wife, Eugenia Bostwick-Singer, he’s part of the award-winning screenplay team for Disney’s animated feature MULAN, HBO’s IRON JAWED ANGELS, DreamWork’s JOSEPH KING OF DREAMS, and movies for all the major TV networks. He’s appeared in and directed plays On and Off-Broadway, in regional theaters across the country and in Los Angeles. He’s the director-editor of the ultra-short UKRAINIAN RAILROAD LADIES, the award-winning documentary GROUND OPERATIONS — BATTLEFIELDS TO FARM FIELDS, and edited documentaries for Bill Couterié, HBO, Walk Your Talk Productions, Cut to the Story Films, the Ventura Farm Bureau and others. ONLY HERE AND NOW is his first narrative short film.
