Eurydice: Le Ballet de la Nui

Friday, February 14th at 8:00 – 10:00 PM

Based on the plot of Louis XIV’s Ballet de la Nuit (1653), Eurydice (2017) is a modern realisation of the fourth watch of the 13-hours work. This part of the ballet is based on the Greek mythology of Orpheus and Eurydice, who loved each other but failed to end happily. This movement is about the dialogue between Orpheus and the hamadryads (tree nymphs), as if both still exist in the 21st century, while there are no more trees in the concrete forest.

Is there still trees?
Is there still hamadryads?
What would they have in mind?
What would they talk about?
